Passive Income Report – April 2021

Throughout these updates we will go over the previous month’s dividend income, as well as our rolling 12 month projected dividend income and our progress towards our goal of having $50,000 in annual passive income. For reference, I received my first ever dividend payment in December 2017, and I immediately realized that they needed to be a prominent part of our any investment strategy.

April was a very interesting month in one particular way – I don’t think I checked my investing accounts more than once on any given day. I usually like to check not only my accounts, but also the updating stock market news throughout the day almost every day out of interest. This month that was not the case.

So with the “neglect” to our accounts this month I actually never even noticed that we had a very strong month for dividend returns.

If you did click on our last month’s post located above you’ll have seen that that was our first ever $1,000 month in March of 2021 after over 3 years of dividend investing. Well… we didn’t have to wait long to reach our second $1,000 month!

Dividends Received: $1,050.88

$1,050.88 is an absolutely amazing month for us, and admittedly I had no idea that we were on pace for our second 4-figure month heading into April so it’s one of those good surprises for sure.

The real “MVP’s” of our portfolio this month were:

  1. BNS – paying us $152.10
  2. TD – paying us $116.92
  3. CM – paying us $116.80
  4. BCE – paying us $116.38
  5. MO – paying us $63.32

Dividends Received YoY: $3,443.34

We were able to produce an increase of 24% year-over-year from April of 2020, which is another really strong step forward for us. I do miss the days of 100%+ YoY growth but that was obviously never going to be sustainable.

Dividend Projections: $10,585.45

The current stats on our dividend portfolio are:
Portfolio Value: $ 253,024.93
Dividend Value: $ 10,585.45
Portfolio Yield: 4.18 %

  1. Congratulations 🎉💰 for your $1,050.88 in dividend income for April ! That’s awesome ! Thanks for sharing, my portfolio is actually bigger but I have less dividend stocks looks like it….I see I’m probably 1 year behind you…..while in I started in September 2016….lol! All the best, keep that way to invest more ! 📈💲👌😃

    1. Thanks! Yeah, we’re pretty concentrated on higher dividend payers right now as we plan to be using some dividends in a few years to cover expenses. The only “growth” accounts we have are our pensions.

    1. Thank you! It’s a great feeling seeing the YoY numbers even though the %’s slow down.
