Findependence Canada

Finding financial independence from scratch

Portfolio

Our goal with this portfolio is to generate enough income to one day be able to live off of our dividends without the need for a full time job, thus making our working lives optional.

We’re planning to achieve this goal by buying strong, stable companies with extensive histories in paying reliable dividends and even growing their payouts year over year, thus insulating us from the risks of inflation.

We like to play to the strengths of the Canadian market and load up on things like Canadian banks, utilities and energy stocks and then diversify into the US market in sectors where the Canadian market doesn’t keep up like Technology, Consumer Staples, Consumer Discretionary and Healthcare.

Below we’ll take a look at all of our holdings broken down by sector and country.
