TOP CANADIAN DIVIDEND INVESTING BLOGS TO FOLLOW:

Welcome back everyone, today we’re going to take a look at our top picks for best Canadian Dividend blogs you should be following in 2019!

It should come as no surprise to any of our readers that we are in fact huge dividend investing fans, and as such, follow quite a large number of fellow dividend investor/ personal finance blogs.

What we’re going to attempt to do here is narrow down the probably 50 or so blogs to which we check in at at least periodically and give you a list of the top 5 that we find ourselves returning to over and over again as well as why it is they’re able to draw our attention.

To qualify for this list there are just a few criteria:
1) The blog must be Canadian
2) The blog must make portfolio/dividend updates regularly
3) The blog must share at least partial insight into their portfolios

In no particular order, here are our 5 picks for top dividend investing blogs in Canada:

  • Tawcan – www.tawcan.com
This is a great blog for both new and experienced investors alike. Our favourite part of this blog is the wide set of topics that they cover. We’ve been following Tawcan for at least a couple years now and we’re constantly learning new things about retirement planning, investing and lifestyle choices. We also find it so inspiring to see someone with a portfolio and passive income as advanced as the one found on this blog and it definitely gives us something to shoot for!
  • Dividend Earner – https://www.dividendearner.com
This blogger is from Vancouver and has perhaps the most in-depth looks into individual dividend stocks that you’ll find from any financial blogger, as well as their own formula for giving out “dividend scores” to each company. This is a must see blog for all people looking to invest in dividends. What we really love about this blog is the frequency of posts, you’ll find several well thought out and informative posts all about dividend stock investing per week!
  • Finance Journey – http://www.financejourney.com
If you’re into monthly dividend income updates and net worth updates then you’ll love Finance Journey. What we really enjoy about this blog is how straight forward and easy to follow their posts are. We like to return month after month to read the latest dividend income update and see how their net worth has progressed and compare it to how we’re faring in the markets. They also do a great job of breaking down exactly what’s in their Canadian holdings as well as their US stock exposure. As they’re now closing in on a 10k year for dividend income this is a great blog to see just how far you can go by remaining consistent over time.
  • All About The Dividends – https://allaboutthedividends.wordpress.com/about/
Matthew is from “small town” Ontario and posts some of the best monthly dividend updates in the game. Another blogger with full transparency, they do a fantastic job of sharing exactly what they’re holding in their portfolio, which accounts are used for what and even break down to the penny where they received their dividends from by company. We also love the way that this blog updates its readers on their buys and sells shortly after the transaction so that we can all be tipped off to potential buying opportunities that we’ve maybe missed out on in our searches, this will definitely remain on our frequently read blogs list for the foreseeable future.
  • Freedom35 blog – http://www.freedomthirtyfiveblog.com
While this blog has great charts, graphs, and detailed information in their dividend reports, our favourite part of this blog is actually that they share several types of passive income they’re currently receiving. Some of the alternative passive income sources you’ll get to read about on this blog include peer to peer lending as well as investing in farm land?? (who’d have thought?). This is a blog you should all check out for anything investing and side hustle related.

There you have our 5 favourite dividend bloggers in Canada, we hope we’ve turned your attention to some great new blogs that’ll help you further your financial education as they have helped us. Have we missed any? Feel free to share your favourite blogs down below and help us discover more great content!

Thanks,
